Wayne K. Foo

President and CEO

Mr. Foo has over 30 years of experience in exploration and production of oil and gas, with the last 14 years in executive roles in companies ranging from start-up to senior independent producers. He is currently the President and CEO of Parex Resources Inc, a Canadian public company active in South America and the Caribbean. From 2003 to 2009 he was a founder and later President and CEO of Parex’s predecessor, Petro Andina Resources Inc. Petro Andina grew exclusively through the drill bit to operate 30,000 bopd in Argentina, where the company recognized, explored and developed a new heavy oil trend that comprised a significant extension to the Neuquén Basin.

Mr. Foo began his career with the Chevron companies and progressed through roles with increasing responsibilities in the western Canada basin, Canadian frontier basins, Papua Niugini, Alaska and other regions. In 1996, he joined Archer Resources Ltd, a Canadian public company, as President and Chief Operating Officer. Upon the sale of Archer to Dominion Resources Inc. in 1998, Mr. Foo remained with Dominion as President of the Canadian subsidiary leading that company through a tripling in size through exploration, exploitation and acquisition activities before leaving in 2002 to initiate entrepreneurial activities that culminated in the establishment of Petro Andina.

Mr. Foo has acted as a participant and Chairman of numerous joint venture management committees, domestically and internationally, as well as acting on the Board of Directors of publicly traded, private and not-for profit organizations. He is currently a director of Pengrowth Corporation where he is Chairman of the Operations and Reserves Committee. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology degree from the University of Calgary and a Masters of Science in Geology from Queen’s University. Mr. Foo is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta.
