W.A. (Alf) Peneycad

Non-Executive Director, Chair of Corporate Governance, HR & Compensation Committee

Prior to his retirement Alf served as Vice-President, General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer for Petro-Canada, one of Canada’s leading corporations. He has appeared at many legal conferences to discuss a broad range of legal and business issues including corporate governance matters, compliance activities, competition issues and legal management.

Mr. Peneycad is a Director of Nimin Energy, a Canadian oil and gas company with operations in the United States. He also serves as a Director of several other public companies, including Canadian Wireless Trust (major Canadian telecommunication companies) and R Split III Corp. (Royal Bank) where he holds positions on the Finance, Corporate Governance and Human Resource Committees.

Since November 2006, Alf has been Of Counsel to Macleod Dixon LLP, a Canadian law firm with offices in several international cities.

A graduate of Queen’s University Law School (LL.B. 1970) and McMaster University (B.A. 1967), he was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1972 and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. Mr. Peneycad has been an active member of many legal and business associations in Canada and internationally. He is an active member of and holds an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
