Mr. Taylor is responsible for creating, planning, implementing and integrating the strategic direction of Parex. His geologically driven, business-minded focus on exploration, production and business development activities has been successfully applied in prior companies over his 35 year career. From 2015 to 2017, he served as President of Parex Resources Inc. and Executive Vice President, Exploration & Business Development from 2009 to 2015. Mr. Taylor was Vice President, Business Development of Petro Andina Resources from 2007 to 2009 and led Petro Andina’s entry into Colombia. Formerly Vice President, Exploration and International Operations with Husky Energy, Mr. Taylor directed its global oil and gas exploration efforts which focused in Western Canada, the Canadian Frontiers and Southeast Asia, and he also provided oversight for international production and development operations. Prior to his position with Husky Energy, Mr. Taylor served as Vice President, Exploration for Renaissance Energy where he focused on high-impact natural gas plays in the Foothills, Deep Basin and northeast British Columbia regions. He has also held various management, business development and senior technical positions with Chauvco Resources, Imperial Oil Resources and Exxon Production Research in Houston, TX.
Mr. Taylor graduated from McMaster University with a Master of Science (Geology) in 1981 and holds a Bachelor degree in Geology from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta, the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and is a former Director of Geoscience BC.
Mr. Davie has over 30 years of experience in Human Resources in the energy sector, with broad expertise and knowledge in leading international and domestic HR, Information Technology and Administration functions that support business strategy and objectives. Mr. Davie’s international experience includes new country entry and operations in Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil, Iraq, Chad, Yemen, Qatar, Oman and the United States. He joined Parex’ predecessor company, Petro Andina Resources Inc., in 2009 as Director Human Resources and Administration. Previous to that role, Mr. Davie was employed with WesternZagros Resources Ltd. as General Manager Human Resources & Administration from 2007 to 2009 and with its predecessor company, Western Oil Sands Inc. as Manager Human Resources from 2006 to 2007. He held progressively more responsible roles with EnCana Corporation from 1988 to 2005, including Human Resources leadership positions in international divisions. Mr. Davie started his career with Syncrude Canada Limited in operations in 1977, moving to an Employee Relations role in 1980. His career with Syncrude included a Human Resources assignment with Esso Petroleum Canada, Sarnia Refinery.
Mr. Davie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics from St. Francis Xavier University and his career training and development includes completing the Advanced Human Resources Executive Program, University of Michigan Business School.
Mr. DiStefano is the President and Country Manager of Parex Resources Colombia with responsibility for Parex’ exploration, production, and marketing activities in Colombia. Prior to joining Parex Colombia in 2011, Mr. DiStefano enjoyed a 30-year long international career serving in Country Manager roles with Amoco in Peru and Brazil, for Canadian Hunter in Argentina and as Exploration Manager Latin America/Far East for Noble Energy. Prior to assuming the Country Manager positions with Amoco, Mr. DiStefano performed various exploration related functions for Amoco in Colombia, Trinidad, Guatemala, Spain, New Zealand, India and northeastern China.
Mr. DiStefano earned a Master of Science (Geology) degree from Southern Illinois University, a Bachelor degree in Geology from the Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the University of Houston.
As Senior Vice-President, Exploration & Business Development, Mr. Fowler is accountable for leading his team in identifying and securing top-tier exploration and development opportunities for Parex.
Mr. Fowler has almost 30 years of experience in exploration and production activities in Canada and Internationally since entering the oil and gas sector in 1988. He served as Vice President Exploration for Parex from 2012 to 2017. As New Ventures Exploration Manager for Petro Andina and then Parex from 2008 to 2012, he was directly involved in Petro Andina’s entry into and Parex’s success in Colombia.
Prior to joining Petro Andina, Mr. Fowler held management positions in Northern Alberta production and International New Ventures at Husky Energy from 2005 to 2008. He also held various senior technical positions at Husky Energy, Canadian 88 Energy, and Rigel Oil & Gas focused on foothills and deep basin exploration in Alberta, British Colombia, the NWT, and Wyoming after starting his career as a geologist at Amoco Canada.
Mr. Fowler graduated from the University of British Colombia in 1988 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geological Engineering.
Mr. Furlan is the Senior Vice President of Engineering and has the responsibility for the oversight of drilling, operations, production, reserves and development activities within the company. He began his career in 1992 and has worked in a variety of roles ranging from field operations to reservoir development planning and execution. He has served as Vice President of Engineering at Parex Resources since 2012 where his focus has been on appraisal and development strategies to support production and reserves growth. Prior to Parex Resources, Mr. Furlan served as the General Manager of Development in Petro Andina Resources where he managed the development of the company’s fields in the Neuquén Basin of Argentina increasing operated production from zero to over 30,000 barrels of oil per day. He has also held leadership and senior technical positions with Chevron Corporation both in Canada and internationally.
Mr. Furlan graduated from the University of British Colombia in 1992 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Mike Kruchten is the Vice President, Capital Markets and Corporate Planning, responsible for investor relations, enterprise risk management, financial forecasting and strategic planning. Previously, Mr. Kruchten was Manager, Corporate Planning and Investor Relations of Petro Andina Resources from 2008 to 2009. Prior to joining Petro Andina, he had several financial leadership roles with BP in Calgary, Aberdeen and Dubai and began his career as a gas economist with Union Gas (Enbridge) in 1994.
Mr. Kruchten holds a Bachelor of Economics degree (with honours) from Saint Francis Xavier University, a Masters in Economics from the University of Waterloo, a MBA Queen’s University and a Certified Professional in Investor Relations (CPIR) designation from the Ivey Business School (University of Western Ontario).
Mr. Pinsky has over 25 years of in depth financial experience both in Canada and internationally, with the last 16 years holding senior financial positions in the upstream oil and gas sector focusing on equity and debt financing, corporate planning, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, taxation, reporting and investor relations. Mr. Pinsky served as Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Petro Andina Resources from 2008 to 2009. Previously, he was a founder, officer and board member of Argent Energy Inc. a private exploration and production company, which was sold in 2008. From 2001 to 2004, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Ultima Energy Trust, a TSX listed intermediate sized royalty trust with operations in the Western Canadian Sedimentary basin. Mr. Pinsky was the Chief Financial Officer until the sale of that entity to Petrofund Energy Trust. Mr. Pinsky was the Director of Finance for the Altana Exploration group of companies, which were private oil and gas concerns owned by a NYSE listed US utility from 1997 until their sale in 2001. Mr. Pinsky began his career with Price Waterhouse in 1987 and completed assignments in the areas of audit and assurance, taxation, insolvency, corporate restructuring and corporate finance.
Mr. Pinsky graduated from the University of Calgary in 1987 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He is currently a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
